Good On Toast is a high-energy band playing ska and rocksteady music in the Greater Seattle area. Our infectious rhythms and on-stage antics get an audience moving. Be prepared to dance!
We are an 9-piece with vocals, drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, 2 tenor saxes, baritone sax, trumpet, and trombone. Most musicians are 100% wireless, allowing us to move around the stage and into the audience as we wish. Our repertoire includes originals, unexpected ska arrangements of non-ska songs, and covers of popular ska tunes.
Good On Toast was formed in the summer of 2023 when lead vocalist Chris Rimple began recruiting a group of experienced musicians with a love of ska. We built up our repertoire and had our first public performances in early 2024. In addition to opening for The Toasters on the Seattle stop of their national tour, we’ve shared the stage with local ska, reggae, and punk powerhouses including The Georgetown Orbits, Dub Lounge International, Skablins, The Kings, Mister Blank, Operation Ivy League, Checkered Record, Ska Island, Wet City Rockers, and others on shows throughout the Greater Seattle area. We’ve developed a strong local following, which was instrumental in our successful 6-band fundraiser show for Seattle JazzED, and we’ve hosted Portland bands including The Israelites, Friday Night Saints, StarSixNine, and others that brought their music to Seattle. We were honored to host the 30th anniversary reunion of the Skantraceptives and to perform at the wedding of a pair of ska music fans.
